  1. I think that Cyrano comes off as a very self-centered person but after he begins to speak he seems more humble. He's learned to accept his big nose and see it as a good thing rather than a bad one. My favorite character so far is Christian. I like how he loves Roxane while he knows that he won't be able to express his love to her. Cyrano has a different attitude towards love because he doubts that Roxane would ever love him and he doesn't even give himself a chance. Then you can really tell that he loves her by his reaction to her wanting to meet with him. ~megan diliberti

  2. I also think that Cyrano is self centered, but seems to be able to take insults with no harm to his self-esteem such as when he talks to Valvert. From reading Act 1 I would say my favorite character is Cyrano because he witty, funny, brave, creative, and bold, but rash, quick to anger, no respect for danger and unthinking for his own or friend's (in some cases) welfare. I think the key idea to Cyrano is self respect as oppossed to caring about what other people think. Tyler Gudorf

  3. I'm confused about why Cyrano would be so generous to Christian in their deal. I think that he is using Christian to tell Roxane how he really feels about her. I think that Cyrano is going to make Christian seem dumb by telling Roxane that he wrote the letters. I don't think that Christian will ever find out because he really believes that Cyrano is his friend. I'm curious to see how this friendship plays out. ~megan diliberti

  4. I also agree with Megan about why he would be nice to him. Cyrano loves Roxane why would he want to tell Christian that. I also agree with Megan about how he is using him, beacuse if I loved someone I would not want to tell my friend that someone is in love with him beacsue I would be in love with them to. I would try to keep the person that I love close to me and not let anyone else take them. I am also having trouble keeping the characters straight. Anyone have any ideas to help me keep the characters straight?

  5. In answer to Katie's question I'd probably just try to remember certain characteristics in personality between each of the characters. Try to remember who relates to who and what not. Hopefully that made sense... and possibly helped? Thanks.

  6. After finishing Act II, I would still say that Cyrano is still my favorite character. I like him even more now that he has humbled himself a little and helps Christian though as Megen and Katie said that his motives still remain unclear. The story so far has got me hooked and I would like to see the movie in class.

  7. I agree with Tyler that seeing the movie would not only be fun, but help me picture some of the scenes better. In reading the first part of act 3, I was very very interested in the relationship triange between Cyrano, Chris. and Roxanne. I see that Cyrano is willing to help Chris. get Roxanne. But now, Roxanne finds that Chris. and Cyrano are set to go to the battle. She sees de Guich and figures out a way to use her fake relationship with de Guiche to keep Chris. Ffrom fighting. Long story short, she tells De Guiche that he should keep Cyrano out of the fight as payback. If this happens, Chris. will naturally stay back with Cyrano. Then, Roxanne will be able to hang with Chris. and hit it off with him. Roxanne is extremely witty and I Can't wait to see what else she does to trick people....-----NiCk FArleY
